I'm glad somebody besides me thinks this way:
Unlike the Democrats with Clinton, the Republicans have purged themselves of someone who didn't belong in the office he held. The failure to do so cost the Democrats greatly. I think that the Republicans, meanwhile, will reap benefits from their action.
It was exactly the circle-the-wagons dance that the Democrats did around Bill Clinton that cemented my disgust with them. I hope the Instapundit is right. Furthermore, look for a number of Democrats to spin this as a defeat for the Republicans, that they couldn't bring themselves to be loyal to one of their own and keep him at all costs.

Lott "Lynching" Watch
How long before Lott or some public figure close to him describes his experience as a "lynching?"
Will it be before or after he is ousted from the Senate Majority Leadership?

Speaking of political correctness: I belong to an e-mailing list of very funny, very opinionated people, contributors to Chris White's topfive.com. I've been ignoring a thread on the mailing list about this topic; it's just too contentious and repetitive and folks' minds close awfully quickly. However, I happened to catch this post and thought it was worth sharing. Funny, funny stuff.
OK, just one more thing: Of all the various winter/solstice/harvest/bleat at the full moon religious celebrations: Christmas is, by far, the coolest. It ROCKS!
ADMIT IT! All you otherly-faithed/non-faithed people are green and red with envy! WE'VE got jolly fat elves! Flying reindeer! Presents for everybody! Flammable trees *indoors*. A cool back-story. A baby. A young mother. Farm animals. Stars. Angels. Visiting kings. Myrrh. Cool songs. (The Dradle Song? PULL-ease!). Sorry, punks, but lamps/fasting/jailed Socialists/obscure astronomical events? WEAK!
All this Ramadan/Kwanzaa/Hanukah/solstice stuff is the sorriest sort of pathetic wannabe me-too-ism, party-wise. Make up whatever story you need to get past the religious stuff, buy the damn tree and sh8t, and party down! You'll be happier, hell, we'll ALL be happier.
OK?
Who's your daddy? CHRISTMAS! Christmas is your daddy!
So, there.

Political Correctness At my son's school, they had a Menorah, a Kwanzaa display, and a Christmas tree. I thought that was pretty nice, and then I also noticed that on the library's "No food or drink" sign, somebody had pencilled in, "Happy Ramadan!"
