Prayerfully consider biting me
Is it just me, or do you church folk out there bristle a little when Church Guy/Gal asks you to "prayerfully" consider doing something? I hear that as an insinuation that we'd all do what CG/G is asking - if our prayer lives were just a little more in order, that is.
Of course, I'm not much a one for the God Talk. I'm more of an Eye-Roller than a Holy-Roller when some of the Churchly Boilerplate Special is on the menu. But most of it seems a silly affectation more than insinuating. This is different.
Am I the only one?
