Internet Slowdown/Halt Predicted
Internet experts are warning of a massive slowdown, even complete stoppage of some sites, as the worldwide web becomes clogged with e-mails and weblog posts boasting that the mailer/poster has never seen "Friends." Please be patient, save your work, and remember we'll probably see another, slightly smaller burst after Tuesday's final episode of "Frazier."

I never saw "Sex in the City" but I didn't feel compelled to boast. I know what you mean, though. The folks who get me are the ones who DO watch programs but they contrive elaborate scenes to describe how they accidentally watched it. Case in point, my friend who watches Oprah, but only, apparently, while accidentally glancing down while changing a lightbulb while his wife is watching it. Runs through a lot of lightbulbs, that guy, based on the number of episodes he can describe in great detail. He also accidentally sits in on all the batchelor/survivor type shows.

TV has become our background. Those off in internet land ignore TV for the majority of the time, but may have favorite shows they watch. But bit by bit TV is replaced by the instant access of whatever it is your wishing to see right then of the computer.
