Disgusting
Oh, look.
I'm at a loss. I love my church, but I don't want to be seen as supporting this man or his little friend. I've sent a tortured e-mail to my Asst. Rector. I'll keep you posted.

Well, being that I know a lot of Catholics, and considering the stuff that's been going on with priests, I'll just pass on what I've heard some people say regarding their church: The leadership and the faith are two different things. It's possible to keep the faith, and not like what the leaders are doing. To the extent that it's possible, you can work for change in the church, and you can always pray that the leaders come to greater wisdom.

That would be great, except I have to think of the Bishop's Fund, which a portion of every dollar I donate, being used to fund plane fare to "Palestine."
Somehow I see the Catholic situation as being different. The church was caught up in an extraordinary scandal and reacted extraordinarily poorly. Yes, it's disturbing to think of the errors of judgment that led to some of these reactions. But they're being oh so slowly undone in many cases and repudiated elsewhere. It's a pity that it took court action to bring this about, but what court will ever repudiate Rowan? I've long disdained Rowan's preening disdain for America and its actions, but this feels like more of a purposeful slap in the face.
