Last Drive?
I drove all the way in today. I've managed to whittle my commute down to under 50 minutes on most days. I think I've found the optimum route and it really does flow. I just wanted to get one last drive under my belt, see if it's really all that much better than MARTA.
It's nice, but I'll be happy on MARTA for a few months, I think. I'm not going to report on MARTA every day any more, unless something astoundingly awful or wonderful happens. I turn in my work parking pass tomorrow, I think.
UPDATE: No, I turn it in on Monday. I'm driving in for the 4th of July Parade and will enjoy parking downtown for that.

I can't tell you how much I don't miss commuting in Atlanta. I'd probabably not miss it less if I had to commute here, but I don't. Huzzah!

My employer sometimes lets me telecommute, and that's nice. But what would be nicer would be if they would let me take advantage of the network connectivity and work from one of the branch offices every now & then. That way I'd get out of the (child-filled) house and wouldn't have to commute quite as much.
There's some kind of mental block about letting me do that, though. They claim that they don't have the space, but I'd almost bet there's a desk I could use and plug in my laptop. But what do I know.
